Airtel has added a record 12 million 4G subscribers during Oct and Nov 2019 as per data submitted by the company to the TRAI.
The 7 million 4G net additions in November — on the back of 5 million net additions in October — represent five times increase over the monthly average of around 1.5 million. The record net additions underline its strong performance driven by customer preference for its network. Airtel has grabbed a large share of new 4G subscribers.

Airtel has pan-India 4G network and plans to shut down 3G network by March and redeploy the spectrum for 4G. This is expected to further boost the 4G capacity. Airtel has invested close to Rs 50,000 crore towards Capex (capital expenditure) in the last two financial years to enhance 4G networks. Airtel has recently rolled out India’s first Vo Wi-Fi services starting with the Delhi NCR region.
Airtel is adding record number of 4G subscribers competing with Reliance Jio and Vodafone Idea.
