Telecom network operator Bharti Airtel today announced its new prepaid plan for mobile data users.
Bharti Airtel is offering the new prepaid packs called Mega Saver Pack in Delhi currently. Airtel will launch the new pre-paid data plan across telecom circles by August 31, 2016.
Mega Saver Pack is available in two denominations. The new data plan offer value to mobile data users and the customers save more with every subsequent recharge.
The Rs 1,498 pack offers 1GB 4G / 3G data upfront and unlimited number of 1GB 4G / 3G recharges at Rs 51 over the next 12 months.
The Rs 1,498 pack offers 1GB 4G / 3G data upfront for the first 28 days. After using the 1GB data in 28 days, the customer can make 1GB 4G / 3G recharges for Rs 51 over a period of 12 months. There is no limit on the number of recharges during the period. Customers can make more recharges and benefit from more value.
The Rs 748 pack will offer 1GB 4G / 3G data upfront and unlimited number of 1GB 4G / 3G recharges at Rs 99 over the next 6 months. The Rs 748 data plan also offers the same benefits like the Rs 1,498 plan. Similarly, the Rs. 748 pack offers 1GB 4G/3G data upfront and post exhaustion of this data limit, customers can enjoy 1GB 4G/3G recharges for just Rs 99 over a period of six months. There is no limit on the number of recharges during the period.
The cost of 1GB 4G / 3G prepaid data will be Rs 51 in the case of the Rs 1,498 data plan.
With the latest data plan, Bharti Airtel has become the Indian telecom operator to meet the new telecom regulation from TRAI. Recently, TRAI said telecoms need to offer data plans with a validity of more than 30 days.
The latest data plan from Bharti Airtel will ensure that the telecom company will retain its mobile data customer for six – 12 months depending on the scheme. Reliance Jio Infocomm, which will be launching 4G this year, will be under pressure to grab new paid customers. Currently, Reliance Jio is offering free SIMs for 90 days as part of its preview offer.
Airtel’s mobile data customers will need to pay Rs 1,498 in advance and can consume 1 GB in the first 28 days. Post the data consumption, Airtel users can get 1 GB for Rs 51 per month for the next 12 months. Airtel’s 4G presence is limited to certain locations and hence customers can get either 3G or 4G in all locations. The other advantage is that there is no restriction on the number of recharges under the new data plan.
