Bharti Airtel has made additional investment for upgrading its 4G network in Assam and North East.
Airtel said it has completed the deployment of LTE 900 technology as part of the vision to enhance the network experience for its smartphone customers. The additional investment in the 900 MHz spectrum band will assist Airtel to ensure more mobile data capacity to serve its phone customers.
Airtel’s 4G smartphone customers will receive better signal inside buildings — homes, offices and malls.
“The deployment of LTE 900 will boost Airtel 4G coverage, particularly inside homes and buildings. Airtel smartphone customers will enjoy a seamless high speed data and HD quality calling experience on our upgraded network,” Raveendra Desai, Assam and North East, Bharti Airtel said.
Airtel said it uses a combination of 2300 MHz (TD LTE), 1800 MHz (FD LTE), and 900 MHz (LTE 900) in Assam and North East to offer 4G VoLTE services to customers. Airtel has also deployed network technologies and tools such as 4G Advanced and Carrier Aggregation to enhance network capacity and coverage.
Recently, Airtel said it will be expanding its telecom network in the Assam and North East region by adding 2,720 new base stations and 3,100 Km of optic fiber as part of the network transformation program.
