Airspan Networks provides 4G public safety application to Turkish Police

By Telecom Lead Team: 4G broadband wireless access
network provider, Airspan Networks announced that the Turkey National
Police has selected Airspan equipment for high-speed broadband services.

The Airspan-powered networks are deployed in the cities
of Isparta and Burdur for mission critical applications. These cities were
lacking wired infrastructure and Airspan enabled bandwidth-demanding
applications such as HD CCTV camera surveillance.

The network operates in the 3.5 GHz frequency band and
functions under line-of-sight as well as non-line-of-sight conditions. The
deployment provides the Turkish Police with the fastest, most reliable, high
capacity coverage. The first phase of the project is deployed in Isparta and
Burdur, and expansion to other cities is expected in the third quarter later
this year.

The systems are programmed to collaborate with PolNet,
the private and encrypted central Police Information System and Network.

“Turkey has been making great strides to modernize
their networks and ensure their police units have access to the highest quality
information. Airspan’s equipment plays a key role in these types of
deployments, enabling capacity-demanding, uplink-centric applications with
rigorous security protocols,” said Henrik Smith-Petersen, president of Global
Business Development.

The company said that the Turkey Police technology
decision makers stipulated the importance of the wireless networks consisting
of the most secure, state-of-the-art technologies and have chosen Airspan for
its advanced technology, the strong LTE roadmap which fits well into their network
deployment plans, as well as the responsive customer and technical support we
have provided.”

Airspan products provide 4G LTE and WiMAX solutions
operating in the 700 MHz up to 5.9 GHz bands.

The Airspan project was commissioned as part of the
Mobile Electronic System Integration project, known as MOBESE.

Recently,  Nepal Telecom selected Airspan Networks for rolling out LTE 4G services across the
nation. The network will provide high-speed data services to thousands of
residents and businesses.
