Gogo, a provider of in-flight connectivity and in-flight entertainment
solutions, announced its agreement to provide a trial of its wireless in-flight
entertainment equipment on Air China.
The first live trial on a commercial flight was conducted on November 15 on a
Boeing 737 en route from Beijing to Chengdu. Live trials are expected to
continue through the first quarter of 2012.
“We are excited to bring Gogo’s wireless in-flight entertainment system to
Air China and look forward to working with them on providing affordable
entertainment options to their passengers,” said Michael Small, Gogo‘s president and chief executive officer.
As the first international air carrier to offer Gogo’s in-flight entertainment
equipment, this represents a significant milestone for Gogo and for Air China.
“Gogo has a proven track record of providing wireless solutions to the aviation
industry and currently is the only company to have a wireless IFE solution in
market and available to consumers,” said Zhang Yang, Air China assistant
president.
Gogo’s wireless in-flight entertainment system offers airlines a light weight,
easy to install solution that can be installed on an aircraft overnight.
