3 Macau makes $38 mn investment in 4G network for Dec launch

3 Macau’s 4G LTE network goes live in December
3 Macau has made an investment of more than MOP300 million or $38 million in its 4G LTE network for aiming for the December launch.

ZTE is the telecom network partner for constructing 4G network in Macau. The new 4G service will cover more than 90 percent of Macau’s outdoor areas, from Porto Exterior to Taipa.

3 Macau’s 4G LTE service will cover main business districts, large housing estates and shopping malls, as well as conference and exhibition centers. Customers can expect fast and stable download speeds up to 112Mbps, and 37.5Mbps for uploading, on 15MHz paired spectrum. Clear and smooth HD VoLTE voice functionality will follow soon.

Ho Wai Ming, chief executive officer of 3 Macau, said: “We have invested more than MOP300 million to develop this 4G LTE network. Our robust network infrastructure, attractive tariff plans and superb customer service will ensure customers enjoy a fresh and exciting 4G LTE mobile experience.”
