An IDC report released today revealed the top storage suppliers during the first quarter of 2018.
The report has disclosed the market share of Dell, HPE, NetApp, Hitachi and IBM in Q1 2018.
The global enterprise storage systems revenue grew 34.4 percent to $13 billion, while storage shipments rose 79.1 percent to 98.8 exabytes during the first quarter.
Revenue of original design manufacturers (ODMs) selling directly to hyperscale datacenters increased 80.4 percent to $3.1 billion, accounting for 23.9 percent of total enterprise storage investments.
Sales of server-based storage increased 34.2 percent to $3.6 billion, representing 28 percent of total enterprise storage investments. The external storage systems market rose 19.3 percent to $6.3 billion.
