Semiconductor sales to grow 3.4% to $347 bn in 2015: SIA

Semiconductor sales will grow 3.4 percent to $347.2 billion in 2015.

Asia Pacific semiconductor sales will grow 7 percent and Americas will increase 3.7 percent. Semiconductor sales in Europe will dip 3.6 percent and Japan market will contract 9.5 percent.

Beyond 2015, the semiconductor industry is expected to grow at a modest pace across all regions. Semiconductor sales will grow 3.4 percent globally to $358.9 billion in 2016, 3 percent to $369.6 billion in 2017, said Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA).

SIA said the worldwide sales of semiconductors rose 4.8 percent to $27.6 billion in April 2015. The Americas market posted double-digit growth compared to last year, leading all regions.

Regionally, semiconductors market increased 12.2 percent in the Americas, 9.9 percent in China, and 5.2 percent in Asia Pacific/All Other, while sales decreased 5.6 percent in Europe and 10.7 percent in Japan.
