IoT revenue size in India manufacturing will be $4 bn by 2020

India ranked 4 in IDC Internet of Things (IoT) Index
Revenue from Internet of Things (IoT) deployment in India for manufacturing will be close to $4 billion by 2020, growing at a CAGR of 20 percent, said IDC.

IT service provider such as Wipro, Infosys and Cognizant have identified IoT as growth areas, while some are setting up IoT test beds in collaboration with the Industrial Internet Consortium. Other vendors have “Digital Works team to provide a digital experience to customers from conceptualizing to implementing projects in the IoT foundry.

IDC says System Integrators with their experience in implementing IT applications in manufacturing can extend their expertise for a connected enterprise.

“The onus of technology perspective and their management will be on IoT partners. This will help manufacturing enterprises to focus on the core areas of IoT in bundling them with their product and services portfolio and in rolling out profitable business models,” said Ramachandran S, principal research manager, IDC Manufacturing Insights Asia Pacific.
