Market research agency CMR has released its smartphone market share report for India during the third quarter of 2015.
Indian smartphone market size rose 15.5 percent year on year and 10.7 percent quarter on quarter to 27.01 million in Q3 2015.
Feature phones fell 10.5 percent year on year and increased 35.3 percent quarter on quarter to 43.53 million.
The total phone market size in India reached 70.54 million, decreasing 2.1 percent annually and increasing 24.7 quarterly.
Samsung, Micromax and Intex are top three players in the smartphone segment and overall phone market in India in Q3 2015.
Samsung is the number one 4G smartphone maker. Lenovo is the second largest 4G smartphone supplier. Micromax has become the third largest 4G smartphone player in India overtaking Xiaomi.
While Micromax shipments rose 137 percent quarter on quarter, Xiaomi shipments fell 29 percent in 4G smartphone market.
1 in every 3 smartphones sold in Q3 2015 was a 4G handset with shipments increasing over 74 percent compared to the previous quarter.
Oppo achieved 3290 percent, Vivo 2729 percent, Lava 1310 percent, Karbonn 995 percent and Intex 627 percent growth becoming the fastest growing brands among Top 20 4G handset vendors in India.
Feature phone shipments rose 35 percent quarter on quarter. Intex achieved 94 percent, Lava 69 percent and Zen 54 percent growth in feature phones.
Qualcomm has more than 50 percent share in the 4G chipset market in India, while Mediatek leads in the overall smartphones segment.
