Wind Mobile names Pietro Cordova as CEO

Telecom service provider Wind Mobile today named Pietro Cordova as its chief executive officer.

The transition of Cordova to CEO from chief operating officer follows last month’s announcement that the investment company of Anthony Lacavera, Globalive Capital, acquired all of VimpelCom’s direct and indirect debt and equity interests in Wind Mobile.

Anthony Lacavera will remain Wind Mobile’s Chairman and a shareholder, and will have an active role at the board level, including working with the company on business planning and strategy and continuing to advocate for Wind Mobile in Canada.

“This change in management as an entrepreneur, my vision was to ignite change across the wireless landscape in Canada, bringing more competition, better prices and superior service to Canadians. Wind Mobile is on a solid profitable growth track,” Lacavera said.
