Telecom network operator Verizon Communications today announced its deal to acquire Telogis, a company based in Aliso Viejo, California.

The company did not reveal the financial details to acquire the privately-held Telogis.

The acquisition strategy of Verizon Communications is to offer the best Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) technology and services, specifically in the connected vehicle and mobile enterprise management sectors.

Telogis brings a software platform and distribution relationships to Verizon Telematics’ connected vehicle solutions for consumers and enterprise customers.

Andres Irlando, CEO of Verizon Telematics, said: “The strengths of our two companies’ assets better enable us to deliver mobile enterprise management services to customers globally, while building scale and accelerating market share.”

Verizon Telematics operates in more than 40 markets worldwide and offers services to consumers, enterprises, automakers, and dealers.
