Telia reveals Capex and revenue details in 2016

Telia Capex in Q4 2016
Telia Company said its capital expenditure (Capex) excluding license and spectrum fees totaled SEK 15,016 million or $1,702 million (+5.1 percent) in 2016 and SEK 4,532 million or $513.61 million (–7.6 percent) in Q4 2016.

Telia Company CEO Johan Dennelind said the telecom operator invested heavily in fixed and mobile across its footprint.

The mobile operator was awarded best mobile networks in Sweden, Finland, Norway, Lithuania and Estonia.

“In addition the Swedish quality index (SKI) reported that we continue to have the most satisfied TV customers in Sweden which is shown in a continued strong intake. We now have 1.7 million TV customers in the Nordics and Baltics,” said Johan Dennelind.

In Q4 2016, Capex of Telia decreased to SEK 5,007 million from SEK 5,209 million and the Capex -to-service revenue ratio increased to 28.5 percent from 28.1 percent. Capex excluding license and spectrum fees decreased to SEK 4,532 million from SEK 4,903 million. Capex- to-service revenue ratio, excluding license and spectrum fees, declined to 25.8 percent from 26.5 percent.

Net debt of Telia, in continuing and discontinued operations, was SEK 50,756 million at the end of the fourth quarter against SEK 51,796 million in the third quarter of 2016. The net debt / EBITDA ratio was 1.69 against 1.67 in the third quarter of 2016.

In 2016, Capex of Telia increased to SEK 15,625 million SEK 14,595 million and the Capex-to-service revenue ratio rose to 21.8 percent from 20 percent. Capex excluding license and spectrum fees grew to SEK 15,016 million from SEK 14,289 million. Telia’s Capex-to-service revenue ratio, excluding license and spectrum fees, increased to 21 percent from 19.6 percent.

In Sweden, Telia increased Capex to SEK 2,320 million from SEK 2,192 million and Capex, excluding licenses and spectrum fees rose to SEK 2,320 million from SEK 2,192 million.

In Europe region, Telia’s Cape fell to SEK 2,010 million from SEK 2,153 million and Capex, excluding licenses and spectrum fees, dipped to SEK 1,535 million from SEK 1,847 million.

Telia Company said its revenue fell 6.7 percent to SEK 21,130 million in Q4 2016.
