Telenor names Irfan Khan as head for Emerging Asia

Telenor Group announced the appointment of Irfan Khan, CEO of Telenor Pakistan, as the cluster head for Emerging Asia.
Telenor Pakistan Irfan KhanIrfan Khan will be joining Telenor Group’s Executive Management Team with the additional leadership role. Irfan Khan will join Telenor Group’s Executive Management Team and will report directly to Telenor Group CEO Sigve Brekke.

Telenor Asia business generated NOK 18.908 billion from Thailand, NOK 13.149 billion from Malaysia, NOK 12.91 billion from Bangladesh, NOK 7.492 billion from Pakistan and NOK 5.81 billion from Myanmar in 2018.

Telenor Asia spending was NOK 16.562 billion in Thailand, NOK 1.649 billion in Malaysia, NOK 3.300 billion in Bangladesh, NOK 1.157 billion in Pakistan and NOK 1.050 billion in Myanmar towards Capex in 2018.

Telenor Asia had achieved mobile subscriber base of 21.202 million with ARPU of NOK 62 in Thailand.

Telenor Asia had 11.660 million mobile subscribers with ARPU of NOK 81 in Malaysia. Telenor Asia had 72.732 million mobile phone customers with monthly ARPU of NOK 15 in Bangladesh,

Telenor Asia had a mobile subscriber base of 43.530 million with monthly ARPU of NOK 14 in Pakistan.

Telenor Asia had 17.232 million mobile phone customers with monthly ARPU of NOK 26 in Myanmar in 2018.

Telenor Group said Irfan Khan will be responsible for the performance of the cluster’s 130 million plus customers. Petter-Borre Furberg, who was the cluster head for Emerging Asia, will become CEO of Telenor Norway.

Irfan Wahab Khan was appointed chief executive officer of Telenor Pakistan on 1 August 2016. He had served in the position of deputy CEO and chief marketing officer (CMO) of Telenor Pakistan since April 2013. He has been with Telenor for 14 years.
