Ericsson, Volvo Group, Airtel Partner to Boost Industry 4.0 and 5.0 in India

Ericsson, Volvo Group, and Bharti Airtel have partnered to explore the use of Extended Reality (XR), Digital Twin, and AI in the manufacturing sector in India. This partnership will use 5G and 5G Advanced to improve operations, training, and real-time optimization. The research will take place at Volvo’s Factory and R&D Centre in Bengaluru and will focus on human-machine interaction. Airtel’s 5G Advanced network will support the industrial applications.

India’s Smartphone Exports Grow 54 percent in FY2024-25

India’s smartphone exports have increased by 54 percent, reaching Rs 1.75 lakh crore ($21 billion) in the first 11 months of FY2024-25. The growth is mainly due to the government’s production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme, which has attracted companies like Apple and Samsung to manufacture in India. Local production now meets 99 percent of domestic demand, and Apple’s iPhone supply chain makes up 70 percent of the exports.

Reliance Jio Offers Free IPL Streaming on Some Plans

Reliance Jio will offer free streaming of IPL cricket matches to users with certain tariff plans. The offer applies to users recharging with Rs 299 or more, and it will provide access to matches from March 22 to May 25. The plan also includes a 50-day trial of Jio’s broadband services. This move is part of Jio’s strategy to combine mobile and broadband services with IPL cricket content.

Sukma district in Chhattisgarh has its first mobile tower, placed at a CRPF base in Tekulagudem village. The BSNL tower, which started working on March 13, will provide mobile service to Tekulagudem and nearby villages. This is part of a government effort to improve communication and tackle Left Wing Extremism by 2026. The tower will help both security forces and local residents in this Naxal-affected area.

Nothing Expands Workforce in India with Launch of Phone (3a) Series

Nothing plans to grow its workforce in India as part of its ‘Make in India’ initiative. The company has factories in Chennai and Noida, employing over 1,300 people, with many of them being women. Recently, Nothing launched the Phone (3a) series, designed for Indian consumers. The Phone (3a) Pro includes a 50MP camera with AI-enhanced zoom features. The company also introduced Essential Space, an AI hub to improve user experience.

Hosted America Partners with KelTech IoE for Network Management

Hosted America has partnered with KelTech IoE to use the LOC platform to manage its fiber network. This platform will help optimize network performance and give real-time data on network assets. As part of the partnership, Hosted America will connect 1 million homes in the U.S. with fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service.

Texas Instruments Launches Power Management Chips for Data Centers

Texas Instruments (TI) introduced new power-management chips for data centers. The TPS1685 is a 48V integrated hot-swap eFuse with power-path protection. TI also launched GaN power stages (LMG3650R035, LMG3650R070, LMG3650R025) in TOLL packaging. These solutions help data centers meet power demands and improve efficiency.

ECSite Launches Public Safety Module for Network Testing

ECSite launched a Public Safety Module for its ECSig Test Transmitter to test public safety networks. The module works in the 140MHz – 500MHz frequency range and allows easier antenna validation and CW testing. It integrates with ECSite’s cloud platform for remote monitoring.
