T-Mobile US to sponsor Macklemore event, after AT&T episode

T-Mobile US Chief Executive Officer John Legere, who was thrown out of an AT&T party at CES 2014 featuring Macklemore, will host a concert by Macklemore and collaborator Ryan Lewis in Los Angeles on January 23.

T-Mobile US in a statement said fans will be able to buy tickets to the show starting tomorrow.

Legere, the CEO of the Bellevue, Washington-based telecom operator, was escorted out of an AT&T party at the International Consumer Electronics Show last week.

At the time, he said he was only there to see Macklemore perform. The incident followed more than a year of antagonism between AT&T and Legere, who has called the competitor’s network “crap.” He has branded T-Mobile as the “un-carrier” because it dispensed with the industry’s long-term contract agreements, Bloomberg reported.
