T-Mobile unveils exclusive FamilyWhere check in service in America

T-Mobile USA has launched
FamilyWhere Check In service, a free feature of the FamilyWhere service for families,
powered by Safely, a division of Location Labs. New check-in feature enables
families to share location via free mobile app.

 

This free check-in service gives
customers additional peace of mind knowing where their loved ones are. With one
click, the service enables kids to send an SMS with their location to family
and friends. As an SMS with a link to a map, the check-in can be viewed from
any Web browser-enabled device on any network.

 

T-Mobile customers can download the
FamilyWhere Check In service from the Android market. The new service allows
customers to do more with their data plans running on America’s largest 4G
Network.

carriers,” said Torrie Dorrell, vice president of Applications, Content and
Games for T-Mobile USA.

 

Exclusive to T-Mobile, FamilyWhere
Check In expands the functionality of FamilyWhere, a location-based suite of
services that helps customers keep track of the most important people in their
lives. Upgrading will enable families to locate devices without GPS and without
installing any additional software at any time they are connected to T-Mobile’s
network.

 

An upgrade to FamilyWhere Locate is
$9.99 per month and can support up to 10 devices per account.


Recently, Cozi and T-Mobile USA
announced
the launch of MobileLife Family Organizer (MLFO), an application and online
service that makes managing busy family schedules a snap with a shared
calendar, shopping lists, to-do lists, family journal and more.
