Sprint retail presence to reach 4,500 locations

Sprint today said it will have a presence in 1,435 Sprint-RadioShack stores by the first week of July, taking Sprint’s total retail footprint to 4,500 locations in the United States.

The expansion of Sprint retail presence follows the completion of the purchase of the RadioShack brand by General Wireless Operations.

Renovation will be conducted in about 300 stores in July. Renovation in the balance will be done by the end of the year. Sprint said these stores will have new signage, new fixtures and a look-and-feel that is similar to other Sprint-owned stores.

“We are quickly revamping these stores across the country to provide a great customer experience,” said Jaime Jones, president, Postpaid and General Business, Sprint. “The Sprint Store at RadioShack will give customers more convenient locations where they can buy our Sprint, Boost and Virgin Mobile products.”

Recently, Sprint announced Direct 2 You service that offers assistance to set up Sprint mobile device at any location the customer chooses. Direct 2 You has expanded and is now available to everyone, including those ready to switch to Sprint. This service will be available nationwide with thousands of vehicles throughout 2015.
