American wireless carrier Sprint today announced unlimited talk, text and 12GB of data to share on the Sprint network for $90 per month for 10 lines.
The latest tariff announcement enables Sprint to take on its main rivals T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon Wireless. “This is the best family share plan available among all the national carriers,” said Sprint in a statement.
The following price statistics are supporting the statement of Sprint, a SoftBank promoted telecom business in the U.S.
T-Mobile charges $100 per month for 2.5 GB of data per line for 4 lines through 2015.
AT&T charges $160 per month for 10 GB of shared data for 4 lines.
Verizon charges $160 per month for 10 GB shared data for 4 lines.
This means, Sprint has slashed the monthly rate and increased the data and the number of lines for sharing.
The American wireless industry is already reeling under pressure to improve revenue streams. A series of revision in data prices have impacted the industry.
Sprint said it is slashing the data access charge on the $90 Family Share Pack plan from $25 to $15 for handsets.
For customers switching their number to Sprint from another carrier, Sprint will waive the access charge for handsets, tablets and mobile broadband devices on 12GB or higher data allowances for up to 10 lines for one year. A family of four will save $720 in data access fees for the year.
In addition, for customers who bring their number and activate on a 12GB or higher Sprint Family Share Pack plan, Sprint will buy out their families’ contracts with an American Express Reward Card worth up to $350 per line. For a family of four, additional benefit will be up to $1,400.
