Roshan Telecom in pact with Herat Cable Network for cable bills

Roshan Telecom customers can pay their cable bills of Herat Cable Network (HCN) through M-Paisa, a mobile money service.

The exclusive partnership between Roshan Telecom and Herat Cable eliminates time taken for making cable bill payments to seconds from the earlier two hours.

Since launching in 2008, M-Paisa’s services have expanded, encompassing everything from salary payments to police, to money transfer to merchants, to humanitarian payments.

“By partnering with Herat Cable Network, Roshan is spurring the flourishing mobile commerce ecosystem, and continuing to fuel Afghanistan’s development and growth,” said Karim Khoja, CEO, Roshan Telecom.

With over 1.2 million registered users and $4 million in salary payments transferred each month, M-Paisa now plays a vital role in Afghanistan’s financial infrastructure.
