Telecom network operator Rogers Communications has acquired Internetworking Atlantic Inc. (IAI) to offer technology solutions and services for businesses in Atlantic Canada.

Specifically, Rogers will benefit from IAI’s presence in cloud computing, data center services, fiber networking and professional services.

This acquisition will increase Rogers’ data center footprint to 16 data centers including Halifax data center, according to Nitin Kawale, president, Enterprise Business Unit, Rogers Communications.

Enterprise customers will benefit from Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) capabilities run over IAI’s internet on its fiber network across Atlantic Canada.

“The additional local expertise that our new employees bring to our team in Atlantic Canada will continue to drive regional growth,” said Ken Marshall, vice president EBU Sales, Atlantic Region, Rogers Communications.
