NTT Communications launches SIM vending machines for tourists

NTT Communications has launched prepaid SIM vending machines at AQUA CITY ODAIBA and New Kansai International Airport for tourists and business travelers in Japan.

Prepaid SIM for Japan is the world’s first SIM vending machines which enable the customers to start using the mobile services in two minutes.

The company is providing instructions in English, Chinese and Japanese.

According to the company, once the SIM has been purchased the user has to register their information such as name and birthday via a touch panel or a passport scanner to start using the mobile and internet services.

The customer need not to have the cash as the machine accepts credit cards for the payment.

The company said NTT Com’s Prepaid SIM cards are already available via retailers at airports, electronic stores and travel agencies but expecting more tourists this year NTT has planned to expand the retail outlets for its Prepaid SIM.
