This collaboration is poised to significantly contribute to the GSMA’s Open Gateway ecosystem in the region.

The partnership will enable developers to utilize Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and other software development tools provided by Nokia’s Network as Code platform. This access will allow them to integrate network functionalities and data into applications tailored for various sectors, including enterprise, industrial, and consumer markets, within Telecom Argentina’s operational sphere in Latin America.

Telecom Argentina will benefit from this collaboration by conducting technical tests and developing use cases to accelerate the deployment of services in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay. The Network as Code platform, with its developer portal, is built upon technical standards established through industry initiatives like the GSMA Open Gateway initiative and the Linux Foundation CAMARA project, with active contributions from Nokia and Telecom Argentina.

The revenue model for the platform involves a revenue-sharing arrangement among developers, operators, and Nokia as the platform provider. Since its launch in September 2023, Nokia has inked collaboration agreements with 10 network operators and ecosystem partners to leverage the platform.

“Telecom Argentina has been a key Nokia partner for many years in the region, and we look forward to enhancing its network monetization efforts and enlisting developers to create new use cases and additional value for its customers,” Shkumbin Hamiti, Head of Network Monetization Platform, Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, said.

Roberto Nobile, CEO at Telecom Argentina, has cited the recent introduction of SIM Swap, Telecom Argentina’s inaugural API under the new business model, as a testament to their progressive approach.

Roberto Nobile expressed satisfaction in expanding the partnership with Nokia to unlock the monetization potential of network programmability and enhance the Telecom Argentina customer experience throughout the region.
