MTS to share telecom towers on rental

Cellular towers in China
Russian mobile service provider MTS today announced its entry into tower rental market to make additional revenues.

MTS offers space at more than 5,500 existing towers and antenna for rent. Partners can utilize the towers and antenna for the installation of telecom and other type of equipment.

By the end of 2016 and beyond, MTS may gradually offer additional towers and antenna to meet potential rental demand.

MTS has created a special unit focusing primarily on tower infrastructure rent to implement this strategy. MTS says partners can send form to: towers@mts.ru

“As we are diversifying our business, we announce that we are ready to offer our facilities for rent for any tenant. In the first phase, we are prepared to rent more than 5,500 towers in operation and our further development in this field will depend upon the mix of the demand from potential partners,” said Andrey Ushatsky, vice president of Technology and IT at MTS.
