Level 3
Communications announced that it has expanded services in Germany to offer its
entire portfolio of enterprise services, including VPN, DIA, website
accelerator services, managed DDoS protection and other services to customers
throughout the country.
The full
range of services uniquely positions Level 3 to
support the expansive growth in Germany, particularly in online commerce. Level
3’s full-service portfolio, delivered over its scalable and secure network,
enables enterprises across Germany to compete more effectively in the global
market.
“Enterprise
demand for secure, reliable and high-performing connectivity continues to grow
in Germany, but the choice of global service providers, especially those who
excel in providing solutions for online commerce, was somewhat limited – until
now,” said James Heard, regional president of EMEA for Level 3. “Level 3 is increasing its focus on the German enterprise market to now
include access to Level 3’s enterprise services and next-generation services,
along with an international network that can quickly scale to meet evolving
business needs and a locally based team that is focused on delivering a
superior customer experience,” Heard added.
In addition
to its transport, colocation and IP services that it has previously offered in
the market, Level 3 will now also offer the following services directly to
German enterprises: Virtual Private Network (VPN) Services, Direct Internet
Access (DIA) Service, Website Accelerator Services, Managed Distributed Denial
of Service (DDoS) Protection, Level 3 Managed Services, Storage Area Networking
(SAN) Services and more.
While all of
Level 3’s services are available to customers throughout Europe, Germany is the
first European country in which Level 3 has launched a full-scale, integrated
enterprise marketing program and built a specialized sales organization on the
ground to support the program.
Level 3
provides service over 165,000 intercity, metro and subsea fiber route miles
with presence in more than 45 countries, providing a size and depth of
connectivity on a broad scale.
Level 3
Communications recently announced the launch of
a new service for enterprise customers, Managed Session Border Controller
(SBC), which enhances network security and provides traffic normalization as
enterprises unlock the cost efficiency and scalability of IP voice technology.
The new
service is being offered in conjunction with Level 3 Session Initiation
Protocol (SIP) Trunking using an Acme Packet Net-Net SBC, enabling enterprises
to get the protection they need with the added benefits of increased
interoperability, quality-of-service management and detailed reporting.
