The new AI cloud infrastructure will offer access to accelerated computing and high-speed, secure cloud networking, ensuring the safe and energy-efficient operation of various workloads. This infrastructure is poised to revolutionize a wide range of critical initiatives and AI projects in India, encompassing AI chatbots, drug discovery, climate research, and more.

NVIDIA, renowned for its expertise in AI and computing technologies, will supply Jio with end-to-end AI supercomputer solutions, including central processing units (CPUs), graphics processing units (GPUs), networking capabilities, and AI operating systems and frameworks. Jio Platforms will take charge of managing and maintaining the AI cloud infrastructure, as well as overseeing customer engagement and access.

“As India advances from a country of data proliferation to creating technology infrastructure for widespread and accelerated growth, computing and technology super centers like the one we envisage with NVIDIA will provide the catalytic growth just like Jio did to our nation’s digital march,” Mukesh Ambani, Chairman & Managing Director of Reliance Industries, said.

“With the most advanced AI computing infrastructure, Reliance can build its own large language models that power generative AI applications made in India, for the people of India,” Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, said.

This collaboration between Jio Platforms and NVIDIA is expected to have far-reaching implications for India’s technological landscape, fostering innovation, and enhancing the nation’s capabilities in AI-driven advancements across various sectors.
