Jio Platforms, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has unveiled an ambitious collaboration with NVIDIA to establish a cloud-based artificial intelligence (AI) compute infrastructure in India.
This strategic partnership aims to accelerate India’s presence as a prominent player in the field of artificial intelligence and provide essential resources for researchers, developers, startups, scientists, and AI practitioners across the nation.
The new AI cloud infrastructure will offer access to accelerated computing and high-speed, secure cloud networking, ensuring the safe and energy-efficient operation of various workloads. This infrastructure is poised to revolutionize a wide range of critical initiatives and AI projects in India, encompassing AI chatbots, drug discovery, climate research, and more.
NVIDIA, renowned for its expertise in AI and computing technologies, will supply Jio with end-to-end AI supercomputer solutions, including central processing units (CPUs), graphics processing units (GPUs), networking capabilities, and AI operating systems and frameworks. Jio Platforms will take charge of managing and maintaining the AI cloud infrastructure, as well as overseeing customer engagement and access.
