Indian telecom service provider Idea Cellular today said it achieved 2 crore mobile subscribers in Maharashtra & Goa.
The Aditya Birla group company has 15,000 sites – 2G and 3G — covering more than 6,200 towns and villages. Idea Cellular has expanded its network of service centers to 860 in the circle.
The mobile operator added 36 lakh subscribers in 2014 alone. Idea Cellular was the first operator to start mobile services in Maharashtra 19 years ago.
Idea Cellular grew its Revenue Market Share (RMS) in the circle by over 2 percentage points in a year to 31.4 percent, in Q1FY15.
Ambrish Jain, deputy managing director, Idea Cellular, said: “Maharashtra & Goa circle is one of the highest revenue grosser for the Telecom sector in India, and contributes largest share of revenue for Idea.”
