Huawei has signed more than 240 managed services contracts with operators in more than 60 countries. Huawei currently collaborates with over 96 certified service partners with Managed Services branches located in nine countries supporting over 24 leading telecom operators.

Huawei has selected TechMahindra as its ICT Partner to deliver the ICT applications management.

Three will transfer a number of employees to work for Huawei’s managed services business and Tech Mahindra for the ICT applications management.

Dave Dyson, chief executive officer, Three UK said: “The decision to select Huawei to manage core network operations follows a rigorous procurement process.  We chose the partner that best met our requirements and which matched our long-term vision of how our network should be managed.

Telecom managed services grew 8 percent year-to-year in second quarter. The Telecom Infrastructure Services (TIS) market grew 3.2 percent in second quarter, according to Technology Business Research.

Strong momentum in managed services and LTE deployments contributed to the growth.

Professional services registered a slight decline. TBR believes the decline in professional services will be short-lived, as operators will require assistance in integrating LTE equipment (including small cells) with their legacy infrastructure and will require assistance in back-office system overhauls.

“Huawei is pleased to be selected by Three for the operations management of its core network.  We already work with Three in six markets internationally and today’s partnership extends that relationship to the UK,” said Victor Zhang, chief executive officer, Huawei UK.

Recently, Three Network inked an agreement with Macheen, a cloud service provider for connected
devices. The agreement between Three and Macheen extends Macheen’s turn-key platform to include the UK’s growing 3G network.
