The partnership between CelcomDigi and Ericsson focuses on using AI-driven network analytics and automation to enhance CelcomDigi’s network efficiency, performance, and service quality, especially with the growing complexity of 5G networks.

CelcomDigi, Malaysia’s largest mobile network operator with 20.4 million users, aims to develop intent-based autonomous networks that can adapt intelligently to evolving demands. Key areas of focus include AI-driven automation, 5G service assurance, and improved customer experiences through smarter, more efficient operations.

Ericsson will contribute its expertise in AI Intent-Based Operations (IBO) to help accelerate CelcomDigi’s shift toward autonomous capabilities. These technologies will also support the company’s network integration and modernisation efforts, positioning CelcomDigi as a leader in digital network innovation.

CelcomDigi CEO Datuk Idham Nawawi highlighted the importance of evolving network capabilities to meet the demands of rapid 5G growth while maintaining superior service.

Ericsson’s regional CEO, David Hagerbro, echoed this sentiment, describing the partnership as a strategic step toward digital transformation and improved user experiences in Malaysia.
