Data fuels MTS India revenues to grow 10% to $59.2 mn in Q3

Telecom network operator MTS India (Sistema Shyam TeleServices) said its revenues increased 10 percent to Rs 3,763 million or $59.2 million in Q3 2015 – fuelled by data revenue.

Blended mobile ARPU of MTS India increased 2.7 percent to Rs 137 or $2.2.

Non-voice revenues rose 5.4 percent to Rs 2,183 million. Non-voice revenues now contribute 58 percent of total quarterly revenues.

OIBDA loss reduced 18 percent quarter on quarter to Rs 443 million or $6.97 million. SSTL is OIBDA positive in seven out of nine operating circles; Kerala being the latest circle to become OIBDA positive.

SSTL’s HSD services now cover over 1,250 towns across 9 circles.

Its mobile subscriber base declined quarter on quarter and reached 8.4 million customers.

SSTL’s net loss during the quarter increased 1.5 percent. MTS India made investments of INR 264 million or $4.2 million during Q3 2015. Debt of MTS India was Rs 45.35 billion.

Recently, Reliance Communications announced the acquisition of MTS India.
