Data fuels China Mobile revenue to grow 3.7% in Q1 2017

China Mobile in Q1 2017Telecom operator China Mobile, which has 568 million 4G subscribers, has released its revenue performance for the first quarter of 2017.

China Mobile posted operating revenue of RMB184 billion (+3.7 percent), telecom service revenue of RMB160.9 billion (+6.1 percent), EBITDA of RMB67.1 billion (+3 percent) and profit of RMB24.8 billion (+3.7 percent) in Q1 2017.

China Mobile had around 856 million mobile customers with an ARPU of RMB58.5 (+1.6 percent) in Q1.

The number of 4G customers of China Mobile was 568 million (+33.04 million) for the first quarter.

Handset data traffic surged 101 percent and handset DOU exceeding 1,000MB.

Voice usage of China Mobile users decreased 7 percent due to the impact of over-the-top (OTT) business.

China Mobile had 85.68 million (+8.06 million) wireline broadband customers with an ARPU of RMB32.6.
