COAI elects Idea CEO as chairman and Airtel India CEO as VC

Telecom industry association COAI today announced the election of Himanshu Kapania, managing director of Idea Cellular, as the chairman and Gopal Vittal, joint managing director and CEO of Airtel India and South Asia, as the vice chairman.

Both Himanshu Kapania and Gopal Vittal were elected for the term 2015-16 at the annual general body meeting of COAI on May 28, 2015.

Former CEO of Vodafone India Marten Pieters is the outgoing chairman of COAI.
