Charter appoints Sprint veteran Danny Bowman as chief mobile officer

Charter Communicatons mobile businessCharter Communications announced the appointment of Sprint veteran Danny Bowman as chief mobile officer to lead the company’s mobile business.

Charter Communications will be launching its mobile business this year to take on leaders such as AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile. The strategy of Charter Communications is to offer integrated communication services to its customers across the U.S.

Danny Bowman will report to Rich DiGeronimo, executive vice president of Product and Strategy, and be based out of the Charter headquarters in Stamford.

Danny Bowman and his team will run the mobile business and forge partnerships with key suppliers and leverage Charter’s network to deliver integrated mobile, wireless connectivity and entertainment experience.

Danny Bowman earlier worked at Samsung, Sprint, Nextel, Cellular One and recently, LeEco North America, where he served as chief revenue officer.

Prior to joining LeEco, Danny Bowman served as chief sales and operations officer for Samsung Telecommunications of America. Danny Bowman spent 17 years at Sprint and Nextel, where he served as president and vice president across several business units.

Charter Communications has posted revenue of $10.6 billion (+3.2 percent) — driven by residential revenue growth of 4 percent and commercial revenue growth of 6 percent in Q4 2017.

Charter generated video revenues of $4.2 billion (+3.1 percent), Internet revenues of $3.6 billion (+9.8 percent), voice revenues of $587 million (–18.3 percent) and commercial revenues of $1.5 billion (+6 percent).
