Cable&Wireless selected by IPC to connect financial services customers in Asia and Europe

Telecom Lead Asia: Cable&Wireless Worldwide has
bagged a new contract from IPC, a provider of voice and electronic trading
communications solutions, to offer a secure network for its financial customers
between key locations across Asia and Europe.

 

IPC customers are expected to benefit from C&W
Worldwide’s next-generation network, which provides high-speed, low latency
connectivity to support the trading communities in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore
and the U.K.

 

“This announcement positions IPC and its Direct
Connect service as an ideal network infrastructure platform for capital market
participants who require a secure, high-speed solution for accessing liquidity
venues,” said Jeffrey Britell, vice president, Global Carrier and Exchange
Relations, IPC.

 

The company claims that C&W Worldwide delivers
Ethernet Private Line AlgoNet solutions over its global transmission network,
at speeds up to 1Gbps and across 31 sites in Asia, India, the UK, Continental
Europe and the US. It manages a next-generation network comprising 132
established Points of Presence (PoPs) which serves the needs of over 6000
customers around the world.

Cable&Wireless Worldwide appoints Darren Webb to head Asia
Pacific telecom business

 

Recently, Cable&Wireless Worldwide appointed Darren
Webb as its managing director for Asia Pacific to look after business expansion
in the region.

 

Darren will have responsibility for enterprise and
carrier sales, service delivery, marketing, finance and people functions. He
was been with the company for more than a decade. Darren has relocated from the
U.K. to C&W Worldwide’s Singapore office.
