Telecom Lead India: BSNL has clocked revenue of Rs 19,305 crore for the nine month period ending 31 December, 2012.
The state-run telecom operator has posted loss of Rs 6,536 crore for the same period.
BSNL’s 9-month profit and revenue figures for corresponding nine month period in 2011-12 is not available.
BSNL had registered revenue of Rs 27,933.50 crore for the financial year 2011-2012, registering 3.3 percent decline from Rs 28,876 crore revenue for the financial year 2010-2011.
The struggling telecom player reported loss of Rs 8,851 crore for FY 2012, up 38.64 percent from Rs 6,384 crore loss in FY 2011.
BSNL currently has 13.51 percent market share in the country for the nine month period ending December 31, 2012, up from 12.7 percent market share as of March 31, 2012, but down from 13.83 percent market share as of March 31, 2011 and 15.66 percent market share as of March 31, 2010.
MTNL, which has operations in Mumbai and Delhi, has 11.3 percent market share in India, for the nine month period ending December 31, 2012, up from 11 percent market share as of March 31, 2012 and 11.29 percent market share as of March 31, 2011, but down from 14.21 percent market share as of March 31, 2010.
MTNL has reported revenue of Rs 2,685 crore and net loss of Rs 3,335 crore for the nine month period ending December 31, 2012. Last month, the company had reported operational revenue of Rs 835.02 crore and loss of Rs 1182.1 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2012.
BSNL had registered a steep 95.8 percent decline in its cash reserves in the past two years, with the cash reserves currently standing at Rs 1,214.44 crore for the financial year 2011-12, down from Rs 29,355.5 crore registered in the financial year 2009-10.
