Airtel taps Cisco to offer networking and connectivity to enterprise

Bharti Airtel has selected Cisco to expand its networking and connectivity solutions to enterprise and SMB customers in India.
Airtel 5G vision Airtel will offer Managed Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) services in partnership with Cisco, Ajay Chitkara, CEO of Airtel Business said.

Airtel’s Managed SD-WAN service, built on the Cisco-Viptela platform, will provide real-time analytics and in-built security. This solution’s centralized policy, and management controller will provide a clear view of data flows across their networks enabling customers to optimize data traffic.

IT heads at enterprises can use the managed and dynamic central platform to cut networking capex and lower migration issues during the transition of applications and data to the Cloud, Airtel said.

Airtel will offer the Cisco-Webex service for conferencing and collaboration requirements of Indian enterprises, Sameer Garde, president, Cisco India, said.

Airtel Business serves over 1,000 global enterprises, 2,000 large and 500,000 medium / small businesses across India.

Airtel Business division generated revenue of Rs 3,111 crore (+7 percent) with EBITDA of Rs 987.4 crore in the December quarter of 2018. Airtel Business’s Capex was Rs 868 crore during the quarter.

Airtel provides voice, data, video, and conferencing solutions. Airtel also provides network integration, cybersecurity, IoT, cloud, data centers, managed services, enterprise mobility applications and digital media to enterprises.

Airtel is grabbing more opportunities in the wake of the collapse of Tata Teleservices (TTSL) and Reliance Communications (RCOM).
