Airtel increases stake in Robi Axiata

Bharti International (Singapore) has acquired an additional 6.3 percent equity stake in Robi Axiata, the second largest mobile operator in Bangladesh, from NTT Docomo, in a cash deal.

Bharti Airtel’s subsidiary did not reveal financial terms of the deal.

Bharti International’s stake in Robi Axiata has risen to 31.3 percent from 25 percent stake.

Robi is a subsidiary of Axiata Group in Malaysia. Axiata has 68.7 percent controlling stake in Robi Axiata.
