Airtel appoints Rajesh Tapadia as CEO of Nxtra Data

Rajesh TapadiaBharti Airtel has appointed Rajesh Tapadia as CEO of its data center and cloud business – Nxtra Data.

Nxtra Data, a subsidiary of Airtel, operates 10 large data centers along with 120 plus edge data centers located strategically across India.

With these, the company serves over 3000 global/large enterprises and over 500,000 SME customers of Airtel.

The data center segment in India is slated to grow to a USD Four Billion plus market by 2022, driven by the digitization efforts and uptake of digital services.

Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO (India and South Asia), said, “Digital India is transforming the economy and opening up exciting new opportunities to serve customers. The data centre and cloud segment is an important pillar in our strategy to address enterprise customers’ evolving needs.”

Prior to joining Nxtra Data , Tapadia served as chief service officer and executive director on the Board at Netmagic Solutions and managed data centre operations across multiple cities, running mission critical infrastructure for global customers.

Tapadia has also worked with companies like Trimax, Global Cloud Xchange, Genpact and Reliance Infocomm.
