Aircel slashes 3G data card price

Telecom Lead India: Mobile operator Aircel has slashed 3G data card price.

With this, Aircel is following the footsteps of
Airtel, Vodafone, Idea Cellular and MTNL.

The product is available in Aircel’s 13 telecom circles. This
data card will work on 3G and 2G networks seamlessly with no usage restriction
on any devices.

Aircel is trying to repeat its earlier success with the
Pocket Internet.

The new product will be called 3G AIRCEL POCKET INTERNET
SMART.

Aircel expects that with this new plan more people in the
country will be able to benefit from the power of internet at affordable prices
and peace of mind from bill shock.

The 3G Aircel Pocket Internet Smart is an Industry first
with an aim to offer a world of possibilities through the power of Internet at
an extremely affordable price and thus empower the Youth of the country,” said Anupam
Vasudev, head Marketing, Aircel.

3G
subscribers to cross 200 million in India by 2016

Along with 3G services, the number of 3G-enabled mobile
handsets will also continue to grow, reaching an active installed handset base
of 680 million by 2016. Boosted by better handsets and data speed, mobile
value-added services will also boom in the future; Evalueserve expects total
MVAS users to reach 430 million during the period.

Bharti
Airtel cuts 3G mobile data services rate

Recently, Bharti Airtel announced substantial reduction in
3G tariffs for Indian customers. The reduction in tariffs under some plan is
around 70 percent. The substantial reduction in 3G data rate is aimed at
increasing usage of the premium data services in the country.

The 3G Aircel Pocket Internet Smart offers starts from only
Rs 8 for unlimited usage for a day.
