ZTE bags IMS core network deal from China Mobile for VoLTE

ZTE announced its deal with China Mobile to supply IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) core network solutions to rollout VoLTE services.

As per contracts in China Mobile’s Phase 2 CM-IMS centralized tender, ZTE will supply IMS network for major provinces including Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hubei, Hunan, Shandong, Sichuan and Fujian.

ZTE will provide VoLTE core network solutions covering equipment and systems integration to China Mobile, the largest telecom operator in the world.

China Mobile’s CM-IMS Phase 2 project comprises newly-commissioned networks and upgrades of existing networks.

Of the 12 tranches in the new telecom network portion of the CM-IMS Phase 2 project, covering 28 provinces, ZTE gained 70 percent market share in seven tranches, and 100 percent allocation in three further tranches.
