Who’s Patrik Hammaren, the new President of Nokia Technologies?

Nokia has announced that Patrik Hammaren has been appointed as the President of Nokia Technologies, effective January 22, 2025.

Nokia Technologies is responsible for managing and monetizing Nokia’s intellectual property, including its leading patent portfolio. In this role, Patrik Hammaren will oversee the licensing of Nokia’s innovations and contributions to global technology standards.

He has been with Nokia since 2007 and served as the acting President of Nokia Technologies from October 2024.

Before this role, he held several key positions in the company, including Chief Licensing Officer for Wireless Technologies and Vice President, Head of the IoT Licensing Program.

His extensive experience includes leading the renewal of Nokia’s major smartphone license agreements and expanding the company’s IoT licensing program.

Patrik Hammaren holds a Master’s degree in law from Helsinki University and a Master’s degree in science from Aalto University. He will continue to be based in Finland and report to Pekka Lundmark, Nokia’s President and CEO.
