Wavelink improves telecom expense management for mobile devices

By Telecom Lead Team: Wavelink Corporation, a provider of mobile
device management and wireless infrastructure management solutions, announced
enhancements to Wavelink Avalanche Telicost, a telecom expense management
solution for mobile devices.

The new
enhancement is expected to provide better reporting and usage controls to help
administrators monitor, analyze and manage data, voice, SMS and roaming usage.

This enables
businesses to recognize potential overages in real time and analyze usage
patterns across carriers and platforms, which can reduce telecom expenses for
mobile devices.

As
corporations continue to deal with the proliferation of smart devices and
wireless WAN devices across their enterprise, it’s important for them to
incorporate wireless expense management as part of their overall mobile device
management strategy.

“Wavelink
Telicost enables organizations to take back control of their telecom and
wireless expenses by giving them the means to minimize, or even prevent,
unanticipated overage and roaming charges from occurring,” said Kelly
Ungs, senior director of channels for Wavelink.

Real-time
telecom expense management from Wavelink goes beyond traditional TEM tools that
allow customers to analyze past billing data. With Wavelink Telicost,
organizations can see real-time network and data usage and proactively manage
their telecom and wireless costs.

Geofencing
allows administrators to monitor and manage where devices can be used and
control the movement of the workforce. Mobile phone users and network administrators
can be alerted when devices are potentially about to incur higher costs
associated with roaming, plan overages and large data transfers or when they
switch to radically different or changing usage patterns or move outside their
assigned work zones.

In addition
to being able to monitor data, voice and text usage, administrators can now
access deeper reporting and usage control capabilities. This includes alerts
and controls for international roaming, the ability to manage multiple devices
that are part of a pooled minutes plan, and reports on application data usage
showing how much data is consumed per application in order to evaluate actual
data needs.

With
more than 9 million active client licenses in the field, Wavelink is the
leading provider of multi-vendor mobile device management, wireless
infrastructure management, terminal emulation, voice enabling, proactive
telecom expense management and mobile application development software.
