Verimatrix bags deal from Jupiter Telecommunications

Verimatrix recently announced that Jupiter Telecommunications has selected Verspective Intelligence to use business intelligence capabilities.

J:COM selected Verspective Intelligence, the latest Verspective Analytics solution suite, to generate usage reporting and analysis for its VOD services used by 3.8 million subscribers in Japan. J:COM aims to maximize network performance and optimize subscriber experience in order to monetize services.

The solution’s dashboards and visualization tools enable J:COM to make informed decisions about audiences, content, consumption, and overall service performance.

Naoki Kobayashi, GM, Technology Operation Division, J:COM, said. “Verspective Intelligence provides gives us the option to determine potential network inefficiencies and subscriber viewing habits.”

Verspective Intelligence extracts data from delivery systems regarding VOD content to enable data analysis and reporting of system and content performance, Verimatrix President Steve Oetegenn, said.

J:COM will deploy the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) analytics platform via the Verimatrix Secure Cloud in order to reduce capital and operating expenditures. J:COM can enhance the platform to collect and normalize data from subscriber devices by leveraging the Verspective RT data collection solution.

Concurrent Content Solutions Corporation (CCSC), a reseller of the Verspective solutions, will be the system integrator for the project together with Verimatrix.

J:COM provides cable television, Internet, telephony, mobile, and electric power service to 5.45 million subscribing households in Sapporo, Sendai, Kanto, Kansai, and Kyushu-Yamaguchi regions. The number of homes passed in J:COM franchise areas is 21.53 million.
