U Mobile Malaysia to deploy ZTE disaster recovery system to strengthen 3G network

U Mobile Malaysia will deploy ZTE disaster recovery (DR) system to strengthen its 3G mobile network.

ZTE on Friday said U Mobile will deploy ZTE’s DR solution in the core network, increasing the backup capabilities of the network infrastructure.

“ZTE is committed to helping U Mobile deliver the best and most robust mobile services to subscribers,” said Fred Zhang, managing director of ZTE Malaysia.

ZTE’s DR solutions will be implemented on U Mobile’s Core Transmission and IPCORE equipment to achieve significant reductions in service recovery times, delivering improved network stability and reliability.

The DR system is expected to be completed within 2014, enhancing U Mobile’s ability to support uninterrupted Internet and mobile services to subscribers. After completion of the project, U Mobile will explore subsequent upgrades and purchases depending on the network’s capacity requirement.

“We are glad to be partnering ZTE once again for the deployment of DR systems as we believe their expertise in telecommunications equipment and network solutions will add value to our company,” said Wong Heang Tuck, acting CEO and COO of U Mobile.
