Turkcell selects HP for its cloud solutions

Telecom Lead Europe: Turkcell, a communications and
technology company in Turkey, has selected HP to use its cloud solutions to
generate new revenue through as a service offerings to businesses.

 

The carrier is using HP CloudSystem Service Provider to
provide its business customers with infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and
communications as a service (CaaS). With these services, Turkcell business
customers can benefit from utility pricing and the flexibility of an on-demand
services model.

 

“Turkcell intends to be the ‘one-stop shop’ for
cloud-based services for businesses in Turkey. HP cloud technologies and
expertise are providing Turkcell the ability to enter this market quickly, and
the flexibility to deliver cloud services that are tailored for each
customer,” said Ilker Kuruoz, chief information and communication
technologies officer, Turkcell.

 

By using these services customers are able to minimize
their capital investment and minimal risk in new technology adoption. Specific
services, such as email, can be easily enabled within HP CloudSystem Service
Provider, allowing Turkcell to enter a growing market with business-ready
offerings and to achieve an advantage over would-be competitors.

 

“To compete with rivals, communications service
providers must use new technologies like cloud to build new businesses,”
said David Sliter, vice president and general manager, communications, media
and entertainment solutions, HP Enterprise Services.

 

A single software platform that can aggregate numerous
as-a-service offerings, the HP solution gives Turkcell the flexibility to adapt
quickly to market changes and customer needs.

 

Now, Turkcell can easily add new offerings as well as
create customized cloud service bundles that simplify procurement and usage for
enterprise customers.

 

Recently, Turkcell launched a SIM-based, Near Field Technology road toll payment application on
its own branded smartphone T11, in collaboration with Bank Asya.
