Telefônica selects TEL-NT for multi-vendor repair and spare part management


TEL-NT,
a subsidiary of Telmar Network Technology and a provider of third-party
multi-vendor repair for telecommunications networks and equipment, announced it
has been selected by Telefônica to provide multi-vendor repair services and
management of its spare parts program for its optical, data and wireline
networks in São Paulo state, Brazil.


TEL-NT will provide
network-wide repair at Latin America’s largest independent laboratory located
in Valinhos, Brazil. In addition to repair services, TEL-NT has expanded its
storage capacity by opening nine spare depots in São Paulo state, Brazil to
manage quick access to and rapid deployment of 130,000 spare parts to
Telefônica’s networks across all São Paulo state.


“We’re
honored that Telefônica has chosen TEL-NT to manage its repair and logistics
for their Brazilian market,” said Steven Pickett, president and CEO of TEL-NT.


TEL-NT’s
spare depots will be located in Araçatuba, Bauru, Presidente Prudente, Ribeirão
Preto, Santos, São José dos Campos, São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo and
Sorocaba.


The services provided to Telefônica are
turnkey: if a defective board is sent in for repair, we can provide a board
from storage for quick deployment. This will ensure that Telefônica’s service
continuity is not disrupted,” said Franklin Jimenez, CALA operation director
for TEL-NT.
