Telecom Lead Europe: The communications equipment market
of the United Kingdom is likely to touch $1.4 billion by 2016, according to
Research and Markets.

revenue of $1.3 billion in 2011, representing a compound annual rate of change
(CARC) of -0.3 percent between 2007 and 2011.

Sales generated through hypermarket, supermarket, and
discounters are expected to be the most lucrative for the UK communications
equipment market in 2011, with total revenues of $608.6 million, equivalent to
47.5 percent of the market’s overall value.

The communications equipment market covers fixed-line and
mobile telecommunications equipment. The fixed-line telecommunications
equipment includes answer machines, fax machines and telephones. The mobile
telecommunications equipment includes mobile phone handsets only and not any
services related charges borne by the consumer.

Asia Pacific to drive telecom equipment market growth through
2015

Asia-Pacific is expected to maintain its position as the
leading market in the telecom equipment industry through 2015, accounting for
the highest capital expenditure, mainly driven by the rapid migration from 2G
to 3G and rising LTE penetration.

Developing markets such as Asia-Pacific and Latin
America present tremendous opportunities for mobile communications sector in
the short to medium term period, given the huge investments the markets have
been witnessing in developing their mobile communications infrastructure,
according to Global
Industry Analysts.
