Tele 2 taps HCL Technologies to boost M2M and IoT biz in Europe

Tele 2, a telecom operator in Europe, has selected HCL Technologies to boost its machine-to-machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) business in Europe.

As part of the agreement, HCL will be taking care implementation, integration, roll out and support of M2M/IoT solutions, in addition to device connectivity through its Device Gateway product called Aegis.

They will focus on healthcare segment, one of the key industry verticals, in Europe to address the M2M / IoT market. In healthcare, the two companies will develop remote patient monitoring systems that are enabled through smartphones.

“HCL and Tele2 will work together to reduce transactional and operational costs for their partners, while tapping into the revenue opportunities that exist within the European IoT / M2M market,” said Sukamal Banerjee, senior vice president, ERS, HCL Technologies.
