Telco Systems gets funding support from Arm for innovation

Telco Systems, a global provider of SDN / NFV solutions, will receive strategic investment from SoftBank-owned semiconductor company Arm, for continuing its innovation efforts.
Telco Systems for NFVTelco Systems will utilize the investment from Arm to lead the development of service-ready uCPE and NFV Edge solutions based on Arm architecture.

“Arm architecture offers low operating costs with greater design flexibility and better security for uCPE and edge devices,” said Drew Henry, senior vice president, Infrastructure Line of Business at the UK-based Arm.

Telco Systems will lead a development program that will include the product development of existing prototypes for uCPE devices, specifically those based on NXP and Marvell system-on-chips (SoCs), and service-ready uCPE and NFV Edge solutions.

Telco Systems said it will focus on the development of performance acceleration solutions that utilize Arm and containerization of VNFs and cybersecurity solutions based on Arm TrustZone. These new solutions will also serve as the foundation for future Arm-based Edge compute, IoT and MEC solutions.

Telco Systems and Arm will work to expand the technology partner ecosystem, customer pipeline and other go-to-market activities to introduce and promote these uCPE and NFV edge solutions to the telecommunications networking infrastructure market.

This Arm-NFVTime ecosystem will allow VNF and whitebox vendors to unlock business opportunities, create differentiators and demonstrate superior performance.

The available and planned uCPE and NFV Edge solutions from Telco Systems and Arm deliver service providers, network operators and enterprises with higher performance and reduced costs to meet business models.

“We are experiencing demand for our NFVTime solution running on Arm architecture and our new solutions will attract interest, especially from Tier 1 service providers in North America and other developed markets,” Ariel Efrati, CEO at Telco Systems.
