This new multi-year agreement strengthens HCL’s managed services partnership with Rogers that started in 2016.

HCL did not reveal financial details of the IT deal with Rogers.

HCL will help scale Rogers’ IT infrastructure and workloads migrating to the current private and public cloud infrastructure, support the enterprise’s operations, and serve as the ongoing managed services provider.

“HCL has played an important role in supporting the reliability of our operations since 2016 and has provided tremendous value by enabling us to scale IT operational efficiency and stability,” said Vikram Virk, Vice President, IT Operations at Rogers Communications.

Joelien Jose, Country Head, Canada, HCL Technologies, said: “The Rogers partnership with HCL further validates its substantial investment in Canada, the most recent being the 350-seat digital acceleration center in Mississauga.”

Rogers 5G network is the number one in Canada across five categories, according to a recent study by Opensignal.

Rogers’s total Capex reached $719 million during the second quarter of 2021, focusing on expansion of 5G network in Canada.

Recently, Rogers invested $3.3 billion in 3500 MHz spectrum, covering 99.4 percent of the Canadian population, to enhance and accelerate the expansion of Canada’s first, largest and most reliable 5G network.
